Taking apart a Panasonic Lumix DMC- ZS3 / TZ7 Superzoom Digital Camera
The Panasonic ZS3 is a great little superzoom camera. I had alot of fun shooting with the 12x zoom especially taking up close and personal shots. It took pretty good pictures and the 720p HD videos are awesome from this camera. The ZS3 is a great all around camera perfect for traveling which is what I took to the beautiful private island Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas.
It was there in the Bahamas where I founded out the hard way that the Panasonic ZS3 is not a good swimmer in the crystal clear aqua blue water. My little superzoomer accidentally fell into the water and drowned at the beach. Fortunately I had a backup camera (Casio z750) for the rest of my vacation.
When I got back home, I gave Panasonic tech support a call. They basically told me that it was not worth fixing and the parts and labour would cost more than what the camera was worth brand new. Since I can't repair it, I might as well take it apart. Here are some internal shots of the ZS3 digital camera.
